(Randall Wayne Syswerda, age 68, of Marne, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2019, with his wife by his side, and is now home in the presence of his Lord and Savior, free from his earthly challenges and walking the streets of gold where he was ready to be. Randy struggled all his life against physical limitations and ailments. He developed encephalitis as an infant that left him with cerebral palsy. He didnÆt walk until he was five, and later in life suffered a brain injury that would slowly take his nervous control and cognition. Even through his challenges, Randy was a member of Kenowa Hills High School class of 1970. He never let his limitations break his spirit or harden his heart. His motto in life was ôLife is hard, but God is good.ÆÆ He was an avid fan of many sports, but had a special love for the Michigan State University Spartans. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Lucile Syswerda; sister, Donna Vander Wal; and brother-in-law, Harold Sheridan. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 42 years, Leona Syswerda; son, Caleb Syswerda; siblings, Ivan and Helen Syswerda, Mary Sheridan, Maxine and Scott DeGaynor, John and Jean Syswerda, Roger and Joan Syswerda, Dorothy and Fred Langeland, David and Ellen Syswerda, Bonnie and Karl Olexa, Connie and Marvin Meiste, Ed and Janice Syswerda, Karel and Jeff Swanson; brother-in-law, Larry and Terri VanderWal; and many nieces and nephews. According to RandyÆs wishes, his body has been donated to MSU for research. No funeral services will be held. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of Brookcrest Rehab and Life Center and Emmanuel Hospice for the love, compassionate care, and friendship given to Randy during his time there. (Obituary. Roger Allen Syswerda, age 70, of Gobles, MI has passed away peacefully in his sleep to his heavenly home to be with the Lord and his loved ones on Sunday, August 5, 2018. Roger was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Mildred Syswerda; sister, Carol Joyce Syswerda, and sister-in-law, Patricia Syswerda. He will be greatly missed by Sharon, his wife of 46 years; daughters Wendy (Jacob) Reese, Brenda (Syswerda) Firnstahl, and Shanna (Timothy) Kozub; grandchildren Alexander, Carlye, Jacob, Lauren Firnstahl, Kayden and Jase Kozub; nephews Bruce (Linda), Michael (Christine), and Kevin (Sarah) Syswerda; and brother, Robert Syswerda. Roger was an avid outdoorsmen, hunter and fisherman. He spent much of his life teaching his girls and grandsons how to fish. He was a talented woodworker and kept his familyÆs tradition of large scale gardening as a hobby. (SYSWERDA - Frederick Syswerda aged 93, passed away Monday, May 2, 2016 and was gathered to his God and his people. He was preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Hazel (Shultz) Syswerda. His sisters and brothers-in-law, Alice (Ben) Handlogten, Edith (Ernest) Kruisenga; his brother and sister-in-law, Gerald (Louise) Syswerda; and two precious grandsons, Paul and Caleb. He is survived by his children, Kathy (Gary) Douma, Beth (David) Butterbaugh, Fred (Valerie) Syswerda, Mark (Linda) Syswerda; his 17 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; many dear nieces and nephews. Fred was a charter member of Immanuel Christian Reformed Church, which he loved and served faithfully. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Immanuel CRC, 33 Elwell St. SW. (SYSWERDA - Paul Jason Syswerda, age 19 of Byron Center, joyfully entered the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ on Monday, January 15, 2001. Celebrating his life are his mom Adele Syswerda; his brothers, Andy, Dan, and Justin Syswerda; and his father and step mother, Fred and Valerie Syswerda; step sister Jennifer and step brother Jonathan. Also surviving are grandparents, Ruth Schans and Fred and Hazel Syswerda; special aunts and uncles, Elaine and Don Kines, Sue and Larry Lanting, Nancy Schans, Cal Schans, Mark and Linda Syswerda, David and Beth Butterbaugh, and Gary and Kathy Douma; dear friend and mentor Tony Jones; and many loving cousins. Paul graduated in 2000 from Byron Center High School. He was active in band and drama, Vocal Expressions and was Drum Major and Homecoming King. Paul loved the Lord and loved His church. He was active in Impact Ministries and ''D'' Group. He was loved and respected by all. Special thanks to Dr. Deanna Mitchell, Tina and the 7th floor nurses.
